Banking institutions are playing important role in the development
of the national economy as a whole. They have now shifted from their
traditional approach to the modern one as they are now profit earning as
well as social institutions. They are the important agencies in completing
the various Government schemes announced for the development of
agriculture, SSI, and persons below poverty level.
