Intellectual Property as a whole may seem to consist of original creations, but these creations themselves are divided into two main categories depending upon their nature – those creations being used for Industrial purposes and those creations that are Copyrighted material. A Patent is a legal monopoly which is granted for a limited time by a country to the owner of an invention. Merely b have a patent does not give the owner the rights the use or explore a patented invention: that right may still be affected by other laws such as health and safety regulation, or the food and drugs regulation or even by other patents.
