PERCEPTIONS OF BENEFICIARIES TOWARDS INSTITUTIONAL FINANCE FOR TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT – A CASE STUDY
There are number of schemes and programmes, but also a number of agencies touching upon various facets of tribal life. Wide publicity is being given to the achievements in the field of tribal development by issuing press statements which have became a regular feature now. Typical Government press note on Tribal Development gives the number of individuals benefited under various sectors with details like loans and scholarships given, Hostels and Ashram Schools opened, number of houses constructed, etc. While making these claims the question about the perception of the tribals towards institutional finance for their development needs to be properly understood by the government and its agencies. The perception of tribals about the financial institutions is presented in this paper
