International Journal Of Management And Economics

Purpose

At IJME, we uphold the highest standards of research integrity, originality and academic honesty. In line with the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018, this policy is established to ensure that all submitted manuscripts to IJME are free from plagiarism and uphold ethical publication standards.

Definition of Plagiarism

We define plagiarism as the practice of presenting another person’s ideas, processes, results or words as one’s own without appropriate acknowledgement. This includes published and unpublished work, in any form (text, data, image, software, etc.). It also includes self-plagiarism and redundant publication.

Scope

This policy applies to all authors submitting manuscripts to IJME. It covers all types of submissions (articles, review papers, case studies), in online format or print form, including any supplementary materials.

Similarity Levels & Actions

Exclusions

The following are not treated as plagiarism
  • Quoted text that is properly marked, attributed and referenced.
  • Bibliographies, references, tables of contents, prefaces and acknowledgements.
  • Generic terms, laws, standard symbols, standard equations and widely-known facts (“common knowledge”).

Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must submit original work which has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • All sources must be properly cited; quotations must be clearly marked and attributed.
  • Any reuse of the author’s own previously published work (self-plagiarism) must be disclosed.
  • Authors must declare that the manuscript adheres to this policy via a submission declaration/tick-box.

Editorial & Review Process

  • Upon submission, IJME will screen the manuscript for similarity.
  • If similarity exceeds 10 %, the editorial office will alert the author, provide the similarity report, and ask for corrective action.
  • Submissions that exceed higher thresholds may be rejected or authors banned from future submissions for a defined period.
  • If plagiarism is detected after publication, IJME may retract the article, issue a correction notice, and notify the author’s institution.

Awareness & Training

IJME commits to raising awareness about academic integrity and publication ethics among authors, reviewers and editors. We encourage authors to use reference-management tools and plagiarism detection tools before submission.

Review and Amendment of Policy

This Plagiarism Policy will be reviewed periodically and updated to reflect changes in best practice, software, or regulatory guidelines. Authors are encouraged to check the policy each time they submit.
